    Asked and Answered: Community Highlights from Our Meeting

    The Palacios Preservation Association is thrilled with the success of our September 28th community meeting.

    Over 80 attendees shared ideas for the future of the Luther Hotel, focusing on preserving its history while making it a welcoming, upscale destination. Suggestions covered everything from design and cultural elements to sustainability and community events.     Welcome to the Palacios Preservation Association, where our passion for safeguarding the historical and cultural heritage of Palacios drives everything we do.

    Led by Margaret Doughty and Edith Gower, our dedicated team of volunteers is committed to preserving the iconic Luther Hotel, a 120-year-old gem, not only for its historical significance but also for the economic benefits it brings to our community.     Our Achievement: The Luther Hotel is SOLD!

    Since 1965, the Luther Hotel has stood proudly as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2010.

    Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Palacios Preservation Association and our community allies, the Luther Hotel has been saved from demolition. With the recent purchase by renowned Texas preservationist J.P. Bryan, the Luther Hotel's restoration journey takes a significant step forward. J.P. Bryan, known for his dedication to preserving Texas history, will ensure that this beloved landmark not only survives but also thrives, keeping the memories it holds alive for future generations.

    New Beginnings: A Vision for the Future with J.P. Bryan

    Now under the stewardship of J.P. Bryan, the Luther Hotel embarks on an exciting new chapter.

    Mr. Bryan is dedicated to not only restoring the hotel’s historic charm but also transforming it into a vibrant hub that celebrates Palacios' rich heritage. His vision includes a meticulous preservation of the hotel's iconic features while introducing modern amenities that will make it a cherished destination for both locals and visitors. As the Luther Hotel is revitalized, it will continue to be a place where the community's memories are honored and new stories are created for generations to come.
