Whether it’s the longest porch in Texas, a crumbling building façade, or a century-old story passed down through generations, we’re here to protect the places, preserve the stories, and partner with our community to keep Palacios uniquely Palacios.

Our mission is to make a positive impact on economic development and community engagement in the Palacios area through support and promotion of historic preservation and heritage tourism.

We envision Palacios as a thriving coastal community where historic preservation and heritage tourism drive economic vitality, foster local pride, and enhance the city’s unique identity. By safeguarding our architectural and cultural treasures, we seek to create a sustainable and welcoming environment that honors our past while embracing our future.

We’re proud to announce that the Palacios Preservation Association has been awarded significant funding through the Matagorda Bay Mitigation Trust to launch Palacios Pathways, a connected heritage and eco-tourism initiative rooted in storytelling, stewardship, education, and public access.
Through three integrated initiatives—Living Currents, Tales & Trails, and Soul of the Bay—Palacios Pathways will connect residents and visitors to the stories, landscapes, and traditions that shaped Palacios and continue to shape its future.
Whether you’re a storyteller, educator, historian, conservation partner, volunteer, or simply someone who loves this place, there’s a role for you on the pathway.
Short for “Essential Luther Stories & Inventory of Everything,” is our digital home for Palacios history.
